On Wednesday, January 31, 2018, at 10:00 am, a workshop took place at Chemistry Hall of the Faculty of Science - University of Zakho entitled "The Scientific Role of IEEE in Supporting the Scientific Activities of the University of Zakho" in the presence of Assistant Professor Dr. Lazgin A. Jameel, the President of the University of Zakho, members of the Council of the university, deans of the faculties, lecturers and students of the university.

Topics covered were; IEEE Iraq Section and its scientific role to support universities, and how to hold international conferences and workshops, technically sponsored by IEEE.

It is worthwhile to mention that the speakers of this workshop were Professor Dr. Sattar B. Sadkhan, the representative of IEEE Iraq Section from the University of Babylon and Ms. Sabiha F. Jawad, a senior IEEE member from Al-Mustansyriah University.
